Booting in 13.5 instead of 44.5 seconds

This very practice-oriented software project deals with boot acceleration in Linux. The tool "e4rat" ("ext4: reducing access times"), which was developed by Andreas Rid within his diploma thesis (german language), sorts the hard drives content, so that it is available properly when reading large amounts of data. This way, very efficient data access is possible, for example during the boot process or when starting large programs.

With this tool, for example,the startup of a computer (including the launch of the Firefox browser) was shortened from 44.5 seconds to 13.5 seconds:
